Learning how to cope as an empath during times of mass turmoil is no easy feat. With all of the emotionally distressing events going on in the world today, it can be massively overwhelming to try to stay sane as an empath. Between hurricanes, earthquakes, mass shootings, global warming (just to name a few!), it seems as if the planet and the people on it are going completely berserk.

As mentioned in this article, the word empathy derives from the Greek words “em”, which means “in”, and “pathos”, which means “feeling.” Therefore the term empathy means “in feeling.” Then throw in the word “overactive” and the term “overactive empathy” quite literally means “overactive in feeling.” [Read more…]
Sometimes it can be really difficult to stay positive as an empath. Because like attracts like, if an empath is feeling their own personal negative emotions, they will be much more likely to pick up on, or attract, negative emotions from others around them. This can lead to a vicious cycle where the empath constantly feels negativity, a cycle that is difficult to break out of. [Read more…]
Many empaths struggle with anxiety. It’s just a fact of life when you’re sensitive and susceptible to the emotions of others. However, if this anxiety starts to take over your life, then it can become very problematic. What’s an anxious empath to do?
